Supervision is essentially governed by Sections 1896 et seq. of the German Civil Code (GERMAN CIVIL CODE) is regulated. The guardianship law replaces the former incapacitation.
The purpose of guardianship law is to ensure that a legal guardian is appointed for persons in need of assistance, who acts on their behalf to an extent to be determined by the court.
The person concerned should retain the greatest possible degree of self-determination.
